M. Jacob Aronin

Theatre Arts

M. Jacob Aronin holds a BFA and an MA in Educational Theatre from Adelphi University. He was a talent agent with Professional Artists in New York City, a Casting Director with Binder Casting and producer of Talking Books for Dreamworks animation department. In addition to being Assistant to the President at Adelphi University, Mr. Aronin taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in the Theatre Department. Mr. Aronin left Adelphi to become the Administrative Director of the School for Film and Television, the first on-camera conservatory accredited in the United States. He has been a guest teacher for Colorado, Florida, California, Georgia and Nebraska State Thespian Societies. He also taught and judged for the International Thespian Society Annual Convention. As a playwright Mr. Aronin’s work has been presented at Theatre 122 and the Village Gate in New York, Adelphi University, Cambridge University, the Vanishing Glory in Vicksburg, MS and the Gnu Theatre in East Hampton. His television credits include TV Movies The Face of Pain and Coed Call Girl. He was also head writer for South Beach Story, the first made for cable soap opera.

Cathy Keeler

CITY Academy Coordinator

Cathy Keeler has been a teacher at Parkway Middle School of the Arts for the past forty years. She has taught every Middle level subject except Math and every Middle level grade over the course of her career. Ms. Keeler has her Gifted Endorsement and taught gifted students for ten years before leaving the classroom to become the Curriculum Facilitator. She has served as Science Department Head, Language Arts Department Head, School Advisory Chairperson, Curriculum Facilitator, and Title One Liaison . She is a National SpringBoard Trainer for the College Board. She has planned and conducted many workshops and written curriculum for the district. Ms. Keeler currently serves as the C.I.T.Y Academy Coordinator.
